Census records are a big part of any genealogical research to find missing individuals or help connect a family member to the rest of the family tree.
In the USA, the law renders a census publicly available after 72 years. Contrary to Canada, the National Archives do not offer online records or scans. The first Federal Population Census was taken in 1790, and has been taken every ten years since.
